Today I took me and myself on the road and did some sermon prep at the Starbucks down the street. Most of you have probably done something like that--taken a book or some work to sit in their comfortable chairs and sip a cuppa.
I find though, that I'm not always very "productive" when I go . . . That said, lots of ministry does happen. Have you chatted with the barista whose girlfriend is moving across the country? What about the businessman that's having a stressful day? And then there's the new mom looking tired and lonely.
Despite the fact that I'm a fairly shy introvert, I've had the feeling of being drawn to talk to someone that I don't know since I was a teenager. I can't explain it; but I usually realize at some point that I'm not really doing much of the talking. I'm listening.
